Determination, ambition, setting goals, stepping beyond your comfort zone, gaining a sense of achievement, maximising health and performance and understanding what you are capable of – these are all topics Andrew talks passionately about and with a deep personal experience and understanding of each.
Andrew, whose background is as Sports and Exercise Medicine doctor, GP and runner, is a strong believer in the value of adventure and activity to enhance physical and mental health.
He demonstrates this through his own epic expeditions, which have included running from John O’Groats in the far north of Scotland to the Sahara Desert in northern Africa; winning the North Pole Marathon, the Ghenghis Khan ice marathon in freezing Outer Mongolia, and completing an astonishing seven ultra-marathons on seven continents within seven days.
As well as pushing his body and mind to the limit, Andrew also raises money for a variety of charities along the way. His challenges have supported, among others, the African Palliative Care Association, the Scottish Association for Mental Health, Riding for the Disabled and The Yamaa Trust.
From health and wellbeing and maximising performance to remarkable tales of adventures around the world, Andrew can inspire in a number of different ways.
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
